Time Management Planner - How To Become Time EffectiveJ D DeanThe use of a time management planner makes good sense if you're struggling with lack of productivity in your personal or business work day.
A planner is almost like an activity steps system which lays it out for you during the course of your day. The problem is, many people may have a to do list yet still cannot achieve efficiency. The main reason for this is you simply cannot write something down on a to do list and automatically assume your tasks will be completed. Yes, write them down but not in this fashion... "book car for service" or "pick up groceries." The reason is because those tasks don't have any urgency attached to them. For example, "book car for service" would be more effective if you wrote "need to book car for service...phone workshop at "5555555000000" by 9:00am." In the second instance, there is a little urgency but more importantly, by adding the phone number, you're making the requested action more real and less of a task because instead of thinking, "now where did I put the phone book" or "no time to look for the phone book" you're more likely to pick up the phone and dial the number simply because it's there in front of you. Time Management Planner A time management planner can help you beat your time management woes. For starters, you can set your planner to send you instant messages when it is time to put a project away and start the next one. It may take some getting used to and could be difficult for the first week or so to use a time management planner because you’ve probably never really sat and thought about how much time it takes you to do things in life. Your time management planner can help you to achieve your goals and open up your time to do other things that are necessary. Long Range Plans A time management planner will allow you to program well ahead of schedule. They are ideal for both personal and business use. It will require you to establish a range of short term goals and if this sounds too hard for you, then you've got to ask yourself how serious you are about managing your time. |
