Management Practices have been an Important part of our life since beginning not only in the e huge tasks Requiring a set of skills for accomplishment but also Including the usual daily life Activities that we don’t consider important enough to be given That much amount of Focus and time.
Management is a word that is quite wide spread and cannot ever have a precise and concise definition. There have been lot of Definitions to it in the past that have tried to define the meaning, objective and scope of management in our lives but none of them has been able to precisely and completely define the scope and meaning of management. Some of the widely known definitions of management are as mentioned here.
Management is the guidance and control of action required to execute a program. Also, the individuals charged with the responsibility of conducting a program. This definition of management refers to management as a program. It implies that and effective management practice is where there is some type of defined approach or system in place. This system becomes the plan behind achieving an objective and management than is process of guiding others in following that plan to achieve the same. This is often the downfall of managers as they have no plan or system that results in their actions seeming to be random to the people they are managing and this leads to confusion and disappointment across the employees thus degrades the performance of firm.
According to another famous definition of management, it characterizes the process of leading and directing all or part of an organization through deployment and manipulation of resources (Including human, financial, material, intellectual or intangible resources). This management definition is quite interesting as it traces the root meaning back to the Latin phrase meaning “to lead by the hand” that implies giving direction that is stronger than just a passing suggestion yet is still fairly gentle in approach.
